We had a very nice State Championship meet last night. Five of
our swimmers made it back for the Championship Finals (Chris Healy 100 &
200 Free, 400 Free Relay, Alex Fox 500 Free, 400 Free Relay, Laura
Johnson 100 Breast, Thomas Bullock 400 Free Relay, and Quaid
Caron-O'Neill 400 Free Relay), all with great swims. The Men's 400
Free Relay came within 0.3 seconds of our school record.
I would like to thank all of our Reynolds parents for a terrific
season. Our volunteers are second to none. Every meet was
well done, and we put on an exceptional Conference Championship Meet.
We truly have the best parents in Forsyth County!
I would also like to thank our swimmers for an excellent season.
This year's team really put the effort into the season. It was a
joy to coach this team and be around such a good group of young men and
women.
A few of the season highpoints:
Our Men's team pulled off the win at Conference for their 3rd
straight conference title. Laura Johnson and Chris Healy were
named the
Outstanding Swimmers of the meet. Both swimmers won two events, with Laura taking the 50 Free and 100 Fly, and Chris winning
the 50 and 100 Free. Congratulations as well to Eric Barefoot,
Alex Fox, and Thomas Bullock for
winning the 100 Breast, 500 Free, and 100 Fly respectively.
The following swimmers were named All-Conference for placing in
the top 2 at Conference Championships:
Women: Laura Johnson, Anna Spencer Erickson, Alden
Caron-O'Neill, Savannah Jackson
Men: Thomas Bullock, Eric Barefoot, Alex Fox, Chris Healy, Quaid
Caron-O'Neill, Andrew Stafford
Overall dual meet records:
Women's Team 6 - 3
Men's Team
8 - 1
School records broken this season:
Alex Fox
Reynolds Mile
Eric Barefoot
100 Breast
We have had several queries on how swimmers earn a letter in
swimming. There are two ways to qualify for a letter. You
must earn a minimum of 10 points cumulatively during our regular season
in individual meets, or place in the top 12 at our Conference
Championship Meet.
It was a great season. Everyone please keep up your swimming!!
As always I will see you at the pool!
