Coach's Update - February 15th
Our 2008-09 season completed last night with the NCHSAA 4A States
meet at NC State. It was a great meet with a large number of new
state records set. The Men's title came down to the 400 Free Relay
with a winners take all finish between Providence and No. Mecklenburg.
North Meck. won by 6 1/100's to take the title.
Our season ended on a high point with Anna Ratana breaking the school
record in the 100 Fly with a 57.71. Anna finished 5th
overall in the event. Anna also had a personal best in the 200IM
to finish 9th overall. Anna Blair Bullock finished 12th
overall in both the 200FR and 500FR, and the Women's 400FR Relay
finished 14th.
Overall we had a fine season. Both teams won titles, with the
Women's team taking their second straight CPC Championship and the Men's
team winning their first 9/10 Invitational title. The Women's team
also won the inaugural Twin City Classic meet. Our overall dual
meet record this year was 11-1, with the women's team recording their
second straight undefeated season.
Next season is looking very promising for both teams. We have
the core of both teams returning and our Freshman class should make some
very positive contributions. I am extremely excited about
continuing the momentum we have into next year.
As always, I want to thank our extraordinary group of parent
volunteers lead by Joan Healy. Reynolds continues to have the best
group of parents in the area. Our meets are well run, we have tons
of support for every need, and we continue to be one of the key schools
in supporting the overall sport within Forsyth County. I am truly
blessed to have such support.
And finally, I want to thank our swimmers and Coach Glover.
This team is a joy for me to be around. They are a group of young
men and women who are not just successful athletes, but great people.
I am proud to be associated with them.
Our swim banquet is March 26th at Big Shotz. As always, I will see you at the pool!
